Hello, For us here there is a peculier requirement...
To increase the VSAT speed..., the bharati fellow is asking me to change the postgres port to 80 so that VSAT level they can do something to speed up the things... However they want port 80 itself... I am also puzzled why they want port 80 for database connection.. Anyway... Since port 80 is the default apache port... I changed apache port to 8080... disabled the lines which contain port 8080 for webcache in /etc/services and changed the apache port to 8080 from 80... This worked fine... Now when I changed the postgresql port to 80... in postgresql.conf... and /etc/services... when I restart the postmaster it is not starting thought the startup script shows postmaster started... Is it possible to change the postgresql port to 80 from default 5432 ? If Yes... Is anything else needs to be done for this ? Thanks in advance...
