I have mailman on my system. any guidance on how to configure it? start it? I will google but your words of wisdom can push this forward.
if you install it - it'll be an rpm install.
then find which mailserver you have and put in the appropriate code into that mailserver's config file (mailman has readme.sendmail, readme.exim, readme.postfix etc). Then let apache see mailman pages (add a virtual host or whatever if you need to).
That's about all.
Then point your browser at www.example.com/mailman/admin/
