I am not very sure, but I think Redhat 9.0 and upwards have built in
support for the i845 chipset. Using XFree86 4.3 and above. So, unless you
have a strong reason for going with Redhat 8.0, i'd suggest you try RH
9.0, or better still Fedora Core1, or Taroon. Both work well with this
chipset.
