my question is- If i can use oracle 9i on a machine running RH 9.0 that i hv downloaded from a ftp site, isthere any advantage if i use priced "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server" or "Red Hat Advanced Server"?
It depends. Redhat Enterprise Linux / Advanced Server have a host of extra patches backported from 2.5, for more optimized memory / disk utilization.
