Hello Everybody,

We are using Redhat 8.0 Linux.

We were creating users with the command

useradd -g 100 -G 801 -u testuser testuser123

All was going through well. But since yesterday we find that the user
creation is failing with a error message that

Cannot find group 801

We have checked the /etc/group file and the entry for the group 801 is
there. If we don't use the -G option to make the user member of multiple
groups then the commands goes though. We have tried to use the -G for groups
other than the group 801. But it does not work. This is happening only with
the groups that were subsequently added by groupadd command. The
subscription to additional groups, if given through the KDE environment,is
working. It appears that the user creation for users who are member of a
single group is going through and whenever we try to make a user member of
multiple groups then the problem arises.

Any pointer to a solution please.

With regards,

Goutam Baul
