Maybe it should be:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Since you are the Research Assistant you need to do a little more research.

1] You need to register a domain.
2] Setup a dns server on the public side for your domain
3] Tell your registrar to point the NS records to your dns server.
4] Setup dns servers for the sub-domains.
5] Put NS records for the sub-domains in the dns server for the domain.
6] Setup mail servers for the sub-domains.
7] Put MX records for the same in the sub-domain dns servers.

OR

1] Do only the domain part.
2] Setup local mail servers for the sub-domains.
3] Give mail ids as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
4] In the domain mail server user virtualuser mappings to distribute mails
to the local mail servers.

Lastly, whichever way you go you have some sleepless days and nights ahead.

Regards

Ami
