Hi All,

I have a Windows XP/RH 9.0 dual boot system
configured. The partition is something like this.

/dev/hda1 - Win C Drive
/dev/hda5 - Win D Drive
/dev/hda6 - Win E Drive

/dev/hdb1 - Linux /boot
/dev/hdb2 - Linux /
/dev/hdb3 - Linux swap
/dev/hdb5 - Win F Drive

Grub is the bootloader and it works just great. Now I
am trying to use VMWare workstation 4.0 under Windows
to boot Linux. The Grub interface is never shown.
Instead the VMWare console displays "Grub" at the top
left and hangs.

I tried using using the Windows bootloader by using
the "dd if=/dev/hda of=/mnt/floppy/bootsect.lnx bs=512
count=1". For if=/dev/hda, selecting "Linux" comes
back to the bootloader, and for if=/dev/hdb, it throws
up and error (some file not found error)

Can anyone throw light? Ideally I would like Grub to
work for me, but no issues if Windows bootloader can
be fixed.

Newbie here. Handle with care. :-)

Regards,
Bijur
