In my company we are using Linux Server as telnet server and samba server. We are using same server for writing DVD. It takes around 1 hr(for 4 GB of data). We are using growisofs for writing DVD. Now, during this writing process server gets fully utilised. And effect other users working on the server.

Is it possible to limit the amount of resources to DVD writer(or to any device or to any process)? Or any other workaround solution? The solution would be greatly helpfull to us.

Pls. note that we have to write DVD on server. B.cause movement of 4GB data to another system takes more time.

Server Configuration is :-

Process : 1.7Ghz
Ram : 512 MB
OS : Red Hat Linux 9

Thanks,
Chirag
