As far as I know, a layer 3 routing device is required to allow controlled communication between VLANs, configured on switches. Can a Linux box work as an inter-vlan router ? If yes, then does this require any special tool or software or patch ? Kindly suggest any docs/URLs which may be helpful in this setup.
