Hi komal,
    You could try this.... save your spreadsheet containing data (1000
    rows,30 columns) as a csv text file. (provided you only want the data
    and not the formatting). Then use a utility like awk to filter out
    alternate rows of data into another text file (say text1.txt). Now it
    is as simple as importing that into your spreadsheet. (I think Insert
     --> External Data) will do the trick.
