.rhosts is owned by oracle and it's permission is not world writable: i have
checked this.
i wanted to execute the script(located on the database server) from my linux
box logged in as testuser and i have changed the .rhosts file in the
/home/oracle dir. on the database server.

 Make sure that the .rhosts is owned by oracle and its permission is not
 world writable.

 Why dont you use ssh instead of rsh. With ssh you can assure security. (ssh
 approx= rsh + security )
