Hi all,
I bought my laptop in USA. (Dell Inspiron 8200 Redhat 8.0). I had been
in India last year and tried to use my modem. I could not get my USA
modem to work. The
modem worked fine in USA. In India, the machine always complained "no
dial tone", in windows. I thought that may be there is some
incompatability issue with the modem and gave up. For one of my friends,
apparently, his modem worked after randomly clicking options for flow
control and "wait for dial tone" feature. Does any one have experience
with this?
Windows? Linux?
Is it that people in India should click some options in setup for their
modems before they use it?
