Others have told you how to setup Pine, but consider this: If you can ssh into your LAN, then you can use Evolution from outside the LAN as well. Just setup the appropriate tunnels. ssh -L 2110:pop.server.ip:110 -L 2025:smtp.server.ip:25 -l id ssh.server.ip Then tell Evolution to use localhost:2110 for POP and localhost:2025 for SMTP.
