Dear Friends, I own a small office and have a sub station at different location. I have configured a Linux Server as Dial in Server and sub station using BSNL Land line and Win 98 PC dials office and establishes PPP connection. Then We use various internet utilities to transfer/share data. The bandwidth now we are getting is about 28 to 33 kbps.
To have more bandwidth we are considering two RIM mobiles or RIM Land Lines. Can somebody help me in this regard ? Whether it is Possible to Use RIM mobile for Linux "DIAL - IN" server ? i.e. Ring on RIM modem should be detected by mgetty and it should pick the phone and negotiate with modem at other end. I presume RIM modem connected to COM port of Linux Server. (Though OT) Is it possible to use RIM to dial any Number through PC ? The software provided with RIM forces u connect only to RWorld and don't have any options to enter any telephone numbers for dial-in Server. Can RIM be used as Normal Modem connected to PC ?
