Though  I have  not  used  it myself,  I  know  a person  using
FlagShip to compile old dBase-III+  stuff. This is a commercial
product, but  the personal  edition (I think)  is still  a free

Incidentally, I have  faced no problems in  running Clipper and
equivalent MS-DOS compiled programs under  dosemu. The setup of
dosemu  under  X  is  a  bit tricky.  You  won't  get  the  box
characters unless you choose the  "ibm" char set under dosemu.
