i am looking for the config file that will let me execute local commands on bootup *after* running the runlevel scripts. the SuSE admin manual only mentions /etc/init.d/boot.local, but that runs *before* the runlevel scripts, which will not do in my case because the command i am trying to run is dependent on one of the runlevel services. mandrake had
/etc/rc.d/rc.local for this purpose, iirc, but i can find no equivalent on

It exists - just not called rc.local

Googling for rc.local SuSE - the top link there says ... oh heck, never mind what it says, I am sure you are quite capable of googling it out.
