Hi, I have one small problme regarding sendmail process.
With ps command it show total sendmail processes reached at 18 and immediately it rejects all other connection for sendmail. So users are getting err and can not connect to mail server. At the same time server seems to be very very slow like SSH connection takes 3-4 min to login. If I stop the sendmail and again start everythings work fine. ( as all process stoped) Is this unstable behaviour ?? Now what will be the optimum setting for sendmail process queue for average and maximum no. and how much we can assign as defaults are 12 and 18. The two options are confQUEUE_LA QueueLA [varies] Load average at which queue-only function kicks in.Default values is (8 * numproc) where numproc is the number of processors online (if that can be determined). confREFUSE_LA RefuseLA [varies] Load average at which incoming SMTP connections are refused. Default values is (12 * numproc) where numproc is the number of processors online (if that can be determined). Thanx in Advance.
