Hello,
You weren't that descriptive while asking a question. Please
provide as much relevant information as you can to save us from
        replying you on presumptions.
Now, I presume (you've left me no choices besides
presuming) you are using the Red Hat Distribution.
If you do have the Red Hat CD's, simply put the first CD
into the cdrom and boot with it. Upon the boot prompt
try booting into rescue mode. The Anaconda Installer
will simply find out your current installation, mount it
                under /mnt/sysimage and
request you to chroot into it.
Just hit the command: chroot /mnt/sysimage

Once done, again presuming on bootloaders, whatever
bootloader you use (be it grub or lilo) modify there
                corresponding configuration files and hit:

                For Lilo: /sbin/lilo -v

For GRUB: /sbin/grub-install /dev/hda (If the harddisk
                is your primary master disk)

HTH,
rrs
