seems a minor problem of dns. specify dns servers in kppp (or there's an
option to auto-detect it?). else specify dns servers manually. easier
way is to go to mandrake control center, network and internet, and
select DrakConnect. there against your host name there'll be a button to
"Configure hostname", clicking on the that will open a dialog box where
yu can specify dns settings (that's how it happens in mandrake 9.2)

else, open /etc/resolv.conf and specify "nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" in
it and save it. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the dns of the isp. for e.g. vsnl -
202.54.15.1, mantra 202.56.230.5 etc.
