My P4 1.7 GHz/256 MB laptop (Win XP Pro SP1) crawls if I have only
Outlook and Visio open. Trying to use Acrobat (the full thing, not just
the reader) is an exercise in masochism.

Microsoft's "Minimum Requirement" for Win XP Pro is 128 MB. We all know
how anything runs on bare-minimum hardware.

Maybe your definition of "works fine" is not compatible with mine.
