I am using RHEL 3.0 on my server. I am using telnet / ssh to access my
server, After 3-4 days, when I see the output of "w" command,

It gives like this :-

 15:31:57 up 1:26, 236 users, load average: 1.63, 1.69, 1.68
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT
fbd pts/0 61.3.164.9 2:08pm 13:00 0.55s 0.00s -bash
bill_vin pts/5 HeadOffice 2:08pm 3.00s 0.20s 0.02s -bash
manesar pts/14 220.224.43.146 2:08pm 8:52 0.16s 0.02s login
-- manesaac_amit pts/28 HeadOffice 2:08pm 23:22 0.06s
0.06s -bash
fa10 pts/40 HeadOffice 2:08pm 7.00s 1.44s 0.01s -bash
del13 pts/16 203.94.200.173 2:08pm 52.00s 0.41s 0.00s -bash

But when I count the output using w|wc it gives 30-40 instead of 238.

This problem never arise, When I am using RHEL 2.1

Any one have any idea to solve this problem.

This problem get solved, when I reboot the system, But It appear again
after 4-5 days.
