Hi,
I am running a jabber chat server on my Linux machine.
It logs the chat-server-logs on /usr/local/jabber in
the file called jds.log.
Whenever I see the /usr/local/jabber usage reaching
above 90% I just delete the jds.log file or give
"echo > jds.log" command. (without stopping /
starting) the jabber chat server.
For last few days, even if I delete or echo > jds.log
file I see that its size remains the same. But if I
run "df -h" then the filesystem usage suggests that
file is of much much lesser size.
Also when I run "df -i" in /usr/local/jabber it says
0%usage and all available inodes are unused! Whereas
there are many files in the directory. Then why no
inode is being used?
Any guess / clue?
Thanks in advance'
Vaibhav
