Are you  loading the vanilla kernel  (2.2.20).  It does  not have SCSI
support. Try loading 2.4.x kernel.  For  that you need to type bf24 at
the boot and press enter.   More help is available in the installation
screen itself. Press F2, F3 ... and see.
