Are you talking putty on linux or windows ? I love putty on windows... would be lost without it when I'm on the road... but why would anyone choose putty on *nix when you have xterm+ssh available. Suresh ?? Until late 2002 when I used to occasionally use windows at home... I had rxvt+bash+ssh (from cygwin) and that's what I used all the time... though I had putty on the box.
