I work on exported graphics display using "X -query". A number of
times network fails (due to frequent power cuts), and `Graphics
Display' gets dimmed and that don't permit me to do any action. I
cannot use `ctrl+alt + F1' to come to virtual console. I can only do
`ctrl+alt+del' to reboot system. To avoid rebooting in this way, I
want an action equivalent to `ctrl+alt + F1' on `ctrl+alt+del'. How I
can achieve this?

Or any other solution or pointer to the problem mentioned above.

Thanks in advance.

XEmacs and Emacs are distinct editors, with many similarities.
Both of them provide graphical user interfaces in X windows.
If you want to use them in "console mode" (on an xterm), you
can invoke them as `emacs -nw' or `xemacs -nw'
