Dear people at linux-india.org. Let me first of all ask your forgiveness for
posting an offtopic message. I was desperately looking for resources for
learning OpenBSD and I could not find anyone. yesterday I managed to find a
unix expert but He told me that he could not help me because his field of
expertise was system and kernel programming and not networking and system
administration. He told me to post a mail like this here and told me that I
should definitely get a reply from a BSD expert named Arun Sharma. Please
help me.

I would like to know whether there is a BSD mailing list for India. Or
places where BSD users in India can meet and discuss issues.Could you please
tell me from where I can get books or resources for studying OpenBSD 3.5
administration and networking in India. Could you please also tell me if
there are people whom I can meet and learn About BSD operating systems. I
learned about Linux on my own by God's grace by First buying a Redhat 7.0
unleashed book. I have installed all RHL versions till Fedora. I have also
Instaled and used Mandrake and PCQLinux. Also I have Installed Debian Woody
2 in for the small software company I work for. It took a lot of time and
resources. Almost 4 years now to learn them. But I always had resources in
the form of howtos and excellent documentation in the case of Linux.

I face this problem of lack resources in OpenBSD 3.5. Most of the resources
I found in the net refers to OpenBSd 3.0 or 3.3 and I think there are major
differences in 3.5.

I have Installed OpenBSD 3.5 In my office on a computer with 2 NICs. I took
some effort and the Grace of God. I Installed squid also. What I want to do
is tomake it proxy and firewall betwween our LAN and Internet. Proxy for
HTTP,FTP,Socks5 and Mail. I plan to use Postfix as mail proxy. But I don't
know how to proceed with packet filtering and so on. Since I am new to BSD.
What would you suggest me to do so that I can learn OpenBSD. If there are
people in India Who knows OpenBSD and are willing to share some moments with
me I would like to meet them.

Hope you will help me or atleast point me to the right direction. I donot
have a very basic and through knowledge in Linux/Unix networking. I had sent
a mail to sendmail tohelp me configure sendmail as a mail proxy but didn't
get any reply.

I am very sorry to send this offtopic mail. Please forgive me and Please
help me.

God bless you all there and thanks for the support

Siju.
