I have Debian Woody 3.0r2 Installed with Apache and Samba.
The users in Our LAN use Windows 2000 professional to connect to the samba
shares to edit the webpages hosted through apache. It is found that when
Image files are copied to Samba shares from Windows 2000 prof, duplicate
files are created in the Samba Shares with "~" appearing in the names of the
images. This is becoming a nuisance because webfolders with that "~" image
files cannot be copied as a whole to windows machines through Samba because
while doing so the following error is obtained "Object not found". I update
my Debian almost everyday using "apt-get update" command. Is it a problem
with Samba or Windows. How can I solve it?

regards

siju
