It would be difficult to predict then. If possible send your samba
config and logs. I've used and am using the same way you are without any
such problems. Are there any settings in Windows made to make a backup
copy ? Are the odd files attributes hidden ?

I'm not much known to it. But AFAIK you've top posted which breaks the
thread. To maintain a thread always use reply while responding back to
the messages without changing the "SUBJECT" line.
