This is just a matter of opinion. I probably can do this with my eyes blindfolded ;) On the other hand, I find it VERY difficult to figure out how to run a perl oneliner on an ssh connection. ssh -l root somemachine perl -pi -e ... - and try to figure what all you have to escape.
