Dear list,
I need a suggestion from you.

in our institute (ICGEB) we maintain a database (MySQL) with atlest 1
crore entries. This is on public and biological scientists from all over
world will access this daily. Normally we get 1000 hits every day, esp in
night times. And the server response become slower if it gets
too many hits at same time. We are looking for a solution. We thought
implementing sun Grid will solve our problem. But i am not sure about it.

If we implement GRID will it forword users quries to other machines in the
grid when the main server busy. If it does so, do we have to mirror the
database and PHP pages on all the nodes. OR do you have any other
suggestion/solution.

we host our website on ... SUNFIRE V65 machine dual xeon processors.
OS= RedHat linux
webserver = apache and we use PHP and Perl extensively.

many thanks in advance
gowtham
