Run the following commands as root before dialing up:
DEFAULT_ROUTE=`netstat -rn | grep '^0.0.0.0' | awk '{print $2}'`
route del default
If your PPP script isn't setting the default gateway, also run:
route add default ppp0
Finally, when you shut down PPP, set the default route back with:
route add default gateway $DEFAULT_ROUTE
Note, you must set and use DEFAULT_ROUTE in the same shell.
