Strange! Can you tell me how it is not user friendly? Installtion may be 
problem. But once installed, its user interface is quite good. If your 
requirement is 3D drawings then QCAD can not help you. But for 2D 
drawings, (i.e. equivalent to AUTO_CAD lite) it should satisfy your needs.

There may be many for Linux, but may be nonGPL and you need to spend 
money, like VariCAD, Linux CAD etc.

If you want GPLed, better than AutoCAD, which can do 2D and 3D Modelling, 
(something like Mechanical DeskTop), then you may consider "VARKON"
