hello all,
I am using sendmail-8.12.11 on FC-2 and am not able to
get mailertable to work with virtusertable... please
help me.... !
herez what i've been trying ..
/etc/mail/sendmail.mc has the following :
FEATURE(`mailertable',`hash -o
/etc/mail/mailertable.db')dnl
FEATURE(`virtusertable',`hash -o
/etc/mail/virtusertable.db')dnl
FEATURE(mailertable)dnl
/etc/mail/virtusertable has the following :
@mydomain.com [EMAIL PROTECTED]
/etc/mail/mailertable has the following :
dummydomain.com esmtp:[PUBLIC IP]
where "mydomain.com" is in the "local-host-names",
"dummydomain.com" does not exist,
and "PUBLIC IP" is the correct public ip of a mail
server listening for [EMAIL PROTECTED] addresses.
I expect that the emails of addresses that do not
resolve in virtusertable should be routed to
"dummydomain.com" and then further routed to the
PUBLIC IP as defined in the mailertable.
Heres the problem :
when a mail is sent to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" -- which is
not resolvable in virtusertable, the sendmail logs
show that sendmail is trying to deliver it to
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" which it
cannot find. Why does the mail not go to the public ip
as defined in the mailertable ?
I have been using "make -C /etc/mail" for
re-initializing the db files and "service MailScanner
restart" to restart sendmail.. (using MailScanner for
virus and spam check --- which is excellent!).
I've been googling and RTFM for 2 days now -- but
could not get anything .... any pointers or
suggestions ?
thanx in advance
regards,
Satsco.
