Are the user IDs (uid) on both servers the same? It is not enough if
the username is th same.

You are probably better off using rsync between the two boxes.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]: $ rsync -arvz foo [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/foo

will do the trick.
