I have been reading a bit on how to tunnel TCP/IP connections over SSH
for security. I am trying to use it for sending and receiving mail.

My query is, do I need to have ssh access to the mail server itself?
Assume that I do not have ssh access to the mail server. However, I do
have access to another server on the same internal network. Is it
possible to log in to that machine and forward the port of the mail
server?

Moreover, I don't think this will be possible if port forwarding is
disabled on the ssh server, so I guess that would be the first
requirement.

Thanks.
