Mine is a AMD64 K8 processor on MSI MOBO having VIA/S3G Unichromewell
Graphics chipset. I do not have a separate video card.

I installed Debian Sarge with a 2.6.8-1-i386 kernel which is working
fine. The generic amd64 kernel from Ubuntu also works fine.

I wanted to upgrade to a 2.6.11-amd64-k8 kernel, but X fails with "wm86
mode not supported on 64bit kernel"

Any workarounds ?

Thanks in advance.
