No need for CD. Most you need is to identify the device where your
phone is getting connected. Before you plug in data cable run
#tail -f /var/log/messages

See the output lines carefully when you now plug in the cable. Most
likely your phone may be recognised as /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/usb/ttyS0
or something similar. You may have to load modules like usb_uhci /
usbserial / cdc_acm / pl2303... depending on what the output you get
to get your phone device recognised. This is done by plugging out and
running
#modprobe modulenamehere
and replugging device.
Once you do get to know your device use that information to dial out
and set as modem device. I have used Samsung or LG phones in the past
but not Sony/Erricson.
