You have done it otherwise I presume (Sorry, but could not ressist) > DataCable CD doesNOT have Linux driver. I have successfully setup on > Win98 on same m/c. > No need for CD. Most you need is to identify the device where your phone is getting connected. Before you plug in data cable run #tail -f /var/log/messages See the output lines carefully when you now plug in the cable. Most likely your phone may be recognised as /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/usb/ttyS0 or something similar. You may have to load modules like usb_uhci / usbserial / cdc_acm / pl2303... depending on what the output you get to get your phone device recognised. This is done by plugging out and running #modprobe modulenamehere and replugging device. Once you do get to know your device use that information to dial out and set as modem device. I have used Samsung or LG phones in the past but not Sony/Erricson. Hope these are enough pointers. -- Sudev Barar Learning Linux ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
