Hello, We have some RHEL AS3 and 4 servers. Some users are running personal Perl scripts (XML RPC and other customized daemonos through cron) and creating a kind of client server interaction for monitoring some applications. Which I dont like them to run just to satisfy their developer instinct, as we already have some standard monitoring tools in place to monitor everything they are doing.
I have blocked cron access for everybody except root. Now is there any way I can do to prevent them from running a daemon or opening ports for communication. Something like terminating a program launched by particular owners automatically if they runs for more than a certain time. Regards.
