As i expected even before clicking the link, the article is on similar lines, 
:-)

IMHO *nix architecture is secure enough to withstand such viruses, anyway very 
few local non root users have any binaries in their home directories, and as a 
good practice, I usually disable execute permission on the home partition. 

A suggestion: in place of infecting binaries, the virus can create shell 
scripts, and then change the path and create aliases for common commands to the 
viril shell scripts, or maybe interchange commands altogather, in the user 
profile. And then do what, maybe annoy the user by doing an rm in place of a cp.

But if there is enough hype, maybe antivirus companies will be able to earn 
some money from GNU/ Linux too.
