You have not mentioned whether you installed from source tar ball or simply a binary tar ball. If it was the source then you have to look thru the Makefile and see if there is an "uninstall:" option, otherwise under the "install:" para to see what is installed and their resp. pathnames and remove the files. For the binary case "tar tzf <tarball.tar.gz> will give you the list of files that you need to remove.
