At our office we have 5 Dot Matrix Printer and 1 network Laser Printer
1- Passbook Printer
2- A4 Size Printer
3- 8"x12" Fan fold Continuous Sheet Printer
4- 14"x12" Fan fold Continuous Sheet Printer
5- 4x12 Envelop Printer
6- HP2300 Laser Printer
Our Requirement is to make a print server on a Linux machine. All the
printer are attached to paraller or serial port of Linux machine. We
wish that all the client can send all type of print job to linux
machine over network to Print Spooler Management Application running
at Linux Machine . Job can be spooled there and based on size of paper
to be used for a perticular print job, it can be diverted to a printer
attached to a port of Linux Machine appropriate or to a network
printer.
Is there any GNU application that can be used for making
this type of Print Server?
Is there any Commercial Software?
Earlier Tata Technologis had one such product named NetLp, but that
had lived its life.
