Verseon is seeking a highly talented and motivated senior corporate IT
professional that answers yes to all of the above questions.
Candidates must have extensive experience in support and management of a
heterogeneous company-wide network, consisting of both Linux ( RedHat,
SuSE ) and Windows (NT / XP / 2000) computers; in-depth knowledge of
Linux administration is a must. Candidates should have a proven track
record of troubleshooting hardware, software, and OS issues as they
arise. Candidates must also possess exceptional problem solving ability
anddemonstrated ability to establish and meet challenging project
timelines.
As a senior systems / network administrator your duties will include
working with vendors, other IT staff, scientists and engineers to
troubleshoot problems. You will manage all necessary installations and
services including email, VPN, firewalls, backup, Samba, RAID, NFS, DNS,
etc. You will manage all aspects of LAN/ switch / router management for
wired and wireless networks. You will also be expected to assist in the
development and enforcement of data security protocols throughout the
organization. You will also be expected to design, implement, and
maintain a remote email / contact info / web access solution for senior
management. Knowledge of grid computing and RDBMS a plus as you will be
routinely interfacing with the high performance computing and database
systems groups at Verseon.
Job Requirements:
* B.A. or B.S. in computer science or information technology.
* Minimum of 5-6 yrs of relevant work experience in industry.
* Must possess extensive expertise in installation, maintenance,
and tuning of Unix / Linux systems with strong knowledge of
various Windows operating systems.
* Knowledge of network monitoring protocols – TCP/IP, SNMP – is
required.
* Knowledge of scripting – shell, Perl, Python etc – is a must.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and
verbal).
