I have Ubuntu 7.06 (Fawn), Audacity 1.2.6 and Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy),
Audacity 1.3.3, in the same box.

Both give the same problem - a high pitched noise is added during
recording by Audacity.

This is also happening with DreamLinux2.2, Audacity 1.3.3.
Initially I thought the gnome mixer was to blame, so I have tried
recording with sound recorder, there was no extra noise.
That is how I concluded, Audacity was to blame.

But on the same box with same setup, Suse10.0, Audacity 1.3.3 works
perfectly.
The only difference between all of them is the Audacity package
architecture, deb and rpm.

Anybody faced this problem, or has any comments/views to share ?
