I have a binary code (for which I don't have a source code), which is
using CDROM(supposedly /dev/hdc) as source of some files required for
it's full functionality. But the new machine I procured has only one ide
controller and the cdrom is loaded as /dev/hda instead of /dev/hdc. The
program is not working. I tried creating a link named hdc to hda but
that also didn't work out. Even copying didn't work out. I request if
somebody can tell how can I load /dev/hda to /dev/hdc(required for cdrom
only). I can't even compile a new kernel as kernel provided along has
been hardened to work only for this code.

Thanks in anticipation.

Vivek
