reminds me of the guy who called me saying that he was unable to copy a
file from his hard disk to his floppy drive on his computer. After
battling for an hour, including trying to get him to open a command.com
window and doing a command-line copy, I smelt a rat (OK, I was slow that
day) and asked for more information, only to find out that the guy was
using a Macintosh!!!!!!

Come on Lokesh, give us a break. Saying "I have a compaq machine" is about
as useless and insufficent info as one can give. Let's try again with:

"I have a Compaq PC model ________ that has a ________ display card with
__ MB of display RAM, attached to a __ inch monitor that can do a max
resolution of ____x___, and whose max horizontal vertical frequencies are
____Hz and ____Hz (from the manual). I have the _____ Linux distribution
installed. How to I configure X for this setup?"

Fill in the blanks above, and get back to us, so that we *can* help you.
