Hi,
I've been trying to get the mouse work in Lynx as Raj Mathur
suggested in his list of tips and tricks. I d/l ncurses 5.0 and
compiled it with --with-gpm (and installed it). I then d/l lynx
(2.8.2rel.1) and compiled it with --with-screen=ncurses and --with-gpm
among other options. On being unsuccessful, I d/l gpm-1.1.4. Gpm
didnt compile until after a lot of wrangling with the source (I may
have messed things up here). New gpm was compiled in with ncurses5 (--with-ncurses).
So, I got ncurses5(compiled --with-gpm ver 1.1.3) and libgpm(--with-ncurses ver5). Then
recompiled lynx --with-gpm --with-screen=ncurses. (I used egcs with lot of
optimizations, if it helps).
strings src/lynx | fgrep gpm; gives lib_gpm_initscr and lib_gpm_Gpm_Open.
Point and click does not work in the new Lynx. The mouse still does the old
cut-paste. Where did I go wrong? Does the order of compilation matter? Or, are my
expectations too high.
Bye,
