[LI] linux compatible notebook pc

Hi ,
I am looking for a notebook compatible with linux. before you ask me to
check out the compatibility lists, i specifically want to know whether the
toshhiba satellite, tecra series and the IBM thinkpad available in India are
linux compatible. any experienced user's comments?
