Hello

        Finally i have been able to run linux RH 6.1 with the net the things i
had to alter were

        1. Add a "noauth" option to pppd daemon 
        2. Disable my ethernet card from netconf so that data transfer is
            possible

N.B : I know second point is some workaround till i get to know what is the
problem with both the net and eth0 working together.
