In /etc/X11/XF86Config Find the relevant "Screen" section for the XServer that u r runnin(eg. SVGA).. Then fd the "Display" section and add the foll line below "ViewPort 0 0" - "Virtual XXX YYY" where XXX and YYY define the width and height of the virtual screen you want. eg. "Virtual 1600 1200" .
