Hi all,
this is just a doubt about configuring Samba server. somebody on this list
made reference to http://www.redbooks.ibm.com for the same. I found this
article quite useful. Recently I came across an even more simplified version
written by Atul Chitnis at www.pcquest.com/linux/office.asp. This article
seems to be wholesome except that over and above what is mentioned in that
article I could'nt get Samba working till I added a line to "inetd.conf"
which reads as "swat stream tcp nowait.400 root /usr/sbin/tcpd swat" and had
to restart inetd with " /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet reload". Only after doing the
last two steps I could make samba functional on my machine. Any comments if
the steps mentioned are required or not (if not then what is the alternate
approach to get samba working).
bye
